To make the size of your scanned PDF smaller than before in your Mac OS X system, you can use the application Scanned PDF compressor for Mac OS X to compress scanned PDF document. Then the compressed scanned PDF will be easy to save, share, store, etc.

So please double click the application icon to open it and then you can see the main interface of Scanned PDF compressor for Mac OS X as illustrated in Figure 1. To add scanned PDF into the file list, you can click Add button to open file picker window to select document or drag the scanned PDF document to be compressed into the file list. The buttons Remove and Remove All are used to delete file from the app one by one or one time.

Then please click Setting button to open Setting dialog box. If you want to compress scanned PDF document, you need to make operations to the image elements. So please click Image option on the left and you will see the Image Tab on the right. Please see it in Figure 2.

In this tab, you can compress three kinds of images: color image, gray image and monochrome image. To each kind of image, you can all set downsample type as Bicubic, Close, Subsmaple or Average in Downsample Type spin box, customize downsample resolution in Downsample Resolution edit box and use different ways to compress them. The compression methods to color and gray images are the same: Auto, ZIP and JPEG. The compression methods of monochrome image are: ZIP, RLE, JBIG2, CCITT Group 4, etc.
For saving all the parameters you need to click Apply button and it will return back to the main interface of Scanned PDF compressor for Mac OS X. Please specify the output location for target file in Output Folder text box. Of course you can also click the side button to open the window in which you can choose the output location instead of inputting manually.
At last, please click Start button for starting to compress scanned PDF document with Scanned PDF compressor for Mac OS X.
