Because the functions and usages of the three different version programs for Windows, Mac OS and Linux are the same, this article will only present the usage of Windows version in filling PDF form with FDF file.
Download the package of PDF Form Filler Command Line and then unpack it to any directory you want. In the sub directory bin is the executable file of the program.
A basic usage rule is
pdftoolbox <input files> [options] <-outfile output>
The string field input is to specify an input file, and output is for specify a name to save the created file. Options are given in field of option.
Here is a usable example showing how to fill a form PDF with a FDF file.
pdftoolbox form.pdf -fillform data.fdf -outfile fiiled.pdf
By this command line, the form PDF form.pdf is filled by the data in FDF file data.fdf, and the filled form PDF is saved as filled.pdf. The option -fillform tells the program to fill form.
