For long-term storing the information in the documents, you can use PDF to PDF/A Converter which is designed for converting normal or scanned PDF documents to PDF/A-compliant documents. With the help of PDF to PDF/A Converter, you can convert your PDF files to PDF/A or PDF/A-1b for ensuring that your documents will be archivable and displayed reliably.

There is a file list on the left of the window. To add the PDF documents to the file list, you can use the button "Open" below the list and choose the files to be converted in "Choose files to convert" dialog box. If some PDF file needs to to be removed from the list, you should use the "Remove" button. The "Remove All" button is used for removing all the files from the file list one time. In "Output Folder" text box, you can input the output directory yourself or choose the output directory from the "Browse for folder" dialog box. The "Preview" frame on the right is used for previewing each added PDF file in the file list. There are two check boxes below the "Output Folder" text box. If you want to view the output PDF/A document instantly after the conversion, you can check "Show output folder when conversion is finished" option for your fast searching for the target file. There is the same extension name of PDF and PDF/A document. If you want to overwrite the source file with the target file, please don't check the "Don't overwrite an output file if it already exists" option. If you don't want to set any paramters to the target file, you should check the "Use quick conversion" option.
By clicking the "Option" button, you can see the "Option" dialog box in which there is a Tab Control for you to add settings to the target file. Please see "Option" dialog box in Figure2.

In "Start Action" Tab, you can set the current page when open the target file in "Start Page" spin box. For example, if you input "5" in the box, the output PDF/A will be opened from page 5. In "OpenAction" spin box, you can set or input the scale format or the scale proportion such as "FitBH" or "50%". The application supplies three kinds of color space modes in "Option" dialog box and if you want to use any one of them, please check "Use the following color space mode" check box and choose one option you need.
In "Description" Tab, you are able to edit the descriptions for the target file, including "Author", "Creator", "Keywords", "Producer", "Subject" and "Title". If you are sure you have done all the setting, you can click "Apply" button. Or you can set all the parameters newly by clicking "Reset All" button. When you come back to the window of PDF to PDF/A Converter again, please click "Convert" button to run the conversion.
