This a brief online user guide of VeryPDF PDF Encrypter for Mac. This application is a special tool for encrypting PDF with user or open password.

Before evaluating VeryPDF PDF Encrypter for Mac, you have to download and install it. Double click on the downloaded installer and install it following the installation instructions of the installer. Then, you will see the application in Application category of your Mac OS.
You can add your PDF files to the process queue as displayed in Figure 1. Click Add button and then browse to your PDF files, select them within the file picker dialog.
An encrypted PDF will be saved as another file without overwriting the original PDF. So you have to specify a directory to save the new PDF by clicking Output Folder.

You can set a user password to control whom can open your PDF. Click Option in the user interface of VeryPDF PDF Encrypter for Mac, and you will see an Opiton dialog as displayed in Figure 2.
Select High - 128-bit to set a high level encrytption, and input a user password in the input box of User Password. For a lower security level, you can select Low - 40-bit. Then click Apply to return to the main user interface of VeryPDF PDF Encrypter for Mac.
In the interface, click Encrypt, then your selected PDF in the process queue will be encrypted by the your specified user password.

In option dialog, you can set an owner password and then control the access permissions. You can decided whether the reader of your PDF can get access of printing, modifying, assembly, copying, commenting (annotation) and filling forms. The option Allow Screen Readers is used to check whether the user can use a screen reader aider reading the PDF.
